hey everyone i am looking at buying i think its a 92 or 94 im not sure but its a chevy k1500 z71 ext cab short box truck. it has a blown 350 in it and not sure on the tranny or tcase. im guessing the rear end is a 10 bolt. this truck still has the tbi with vortec heads. ok heres whats been added. new rims and really worn goodyear wrangler at tires. this truck has a k&n air filter with stock cleaner box with the lid fliped over. it has dual batteries (not the stock option) and the aux one has small i would say 12-14 ga. wires and they lead to a solenoid like the old starter ones on a ford truck. any idea what this would be? the truck has a cd changer under the drivers seat, catback dual exaust with resonator tips, lund racerback cab fairing(i think thats what u call it) and it has a dash adaptor to put a DIN aftermarket head unit in it. what do i do with the other half of the stock radio thats above the heater/cooling controls near the steering wheel? is there sposed to be a cover for that opening or do i leave that there? that is all i have noticed on the truck. it has about 165000 miles on it but im assuming that the trans has been rebuilt and im going to put a low miles used motor in it. the lady who's selling it turned down 500 for it but im going to try for under 1000. the truck has some body damage and rust but that can be fixed. the truck was being mudded when it blew up. sound like a good idea till it quits or should i not get it?

i wouldnt pay more than 750....some of the engine parts could be salvaged..but still your basically paying for the body and drivetrain....if you have money to put into it then go ahead but i would suggest getting a front straight axle if your taking it on the trails and mud

for the amount of money your going to dump into this thing when its all said and done, your better off just buying one that runs. they are a dime a dozen. it would suck if you went through all the trouble to put in a motor and then find out the tranny is shot, ot tcase is broken. I would spend the money you want to spend on a new motor and buy a running truck. these are not hard to come by. and the stock drivetrain is nothing special if thats what it has.
