No it's not mine, iseen it on the internet and thought it was kinda stupid so I wanted to see what others thought. Plus I could noy afford the ATV or the dubs. My ATV is an 1986 yahama that looks like it fell off a cliff.

The real question is, whats worse, dubs or spokes? 20's have there place... on 53" tires.

I didn't even like it when they switched standard new truck wheels to 16". I hate the 17" ones on all the base models of 2006 half-tons. I think 15" wheels look the best on all truck tires under 35" tall.

(someday I might end up buying one though; I live in the rust-belt so newer vehicles are a neccesary evil)

The only upside to the larger wheels on the heavy duty trucks is that they had to go bigger for the larger brakes.

I think that you have 2 really good points because the bigger tires you have the bigger wheels you need, 2nd the bigger brakes for towing. All that I can understand but stupid trucks like the H2 with them suck! THERE IS NO POINT!!!!!!!! Plus they look retarded!

P.S. Spokes are worse, but evan worse than that are spinners!

I think the larger brakes are retarded too. There are better ways at making more powerful brakes, but increasing the brake rotor diameter just happens to be the easiest and cheapest. For example, they could have kept the rotor diameter the same and got rid of their stupid single-piston brake calipers, and swapped in 2 piston or 4 piston calipers. These would probably work better than a single piston caliper on even a 20" brake rotor...

With larger wheels your overall wheel and tire weight goes up for the same size tire. Then they put on larger heavier brakes. So what's that, like 10-15 lbs more unsprung weight at each corner? WTF!!!

In NASCAR they use 15" dia. wheels, have fat sidewalled tires and get all the braking power they could ever want.

I dont even understnad why they would put brakes on Nascar cars, it not like they need em, haha, that was joke, sorry. I guess I was refering to the new superdutys because thats what I have experience with and the 17" wheels they put on them stock is the smallest one they could fit over those massive calipers.

I guess 17" wheels are not awefull when put on a 3/4 or 1 ton truck, since their tires weigh a ton anyways, but not on a 1/2 ton. (Half-tons often have lighter, smaller passenger rated tires) I also hate how every new vehicle has some kind of low profile tires.

What really irritates me is how tires for larger wheels ALWAYS cost a lot more even when the overall size is the same. So I'd be buying tires that I hate, that might cost 2-3 times the price! Thanks Detroit!

My dad has a Jaguar from the mid 80's. That's the body style that still had curves and chrome, almost like a car from the 50's. It has 15" wheels and 215/70R-15 tires with 4 piston brakes on all four corners of a 4000lb car. You'd be amazed how powerful they are despite being able to fit under a 15" wheel.

Elastic-band thickness sidewalls don't look good; they make the vehicle look like it'll chip your teeth over every pothole!

expensive rims on a offroad truck is not very smart really but do look good on certain street only trucks take my moms 97 tahoe 2wd with 20s from kmc venom look s good on that but i would never put them on any of my trucks,.

Though I'm only 25, I guess I'm just stubborn and "old-school" when it comes to my tastes. I still think that unless a vehicle needs very low profile tires for VERY hard cornering (ie. Lambrogini or Ferrari) anything over 16" rim diameter on a car is not beneficial, therefore it's just extra un-sprung weight.

Only vehicles like the $300,000 sports cars are designed for perfectly smooth roads free of potholes and speed bumps so its OKAY to put wheels and tires that will let you feel every pebble on the road.

Low profile tires look like they'd be severely handicapped compared to regular or "old-school" tires for providing good ride comfort over normal road conditions like broken pavement or train tracks. Feel free to argue with me if you wish. This is only my opinion.

Aircraftmechanic, I am not going to argue with you. I agree totally. I dispise the "rubberbands" they call lo-pro tires and the giant rims they strech those around. By the way, I work 2 jobs and still hate buying tires. 35" tires cost so much. Who can justify $2000 to $4000  or more for heavy rims and thin tires. Those things do nothing for performance, mileage, brakes...
