WHICH WHOULD BE BETTER FOR A OFF-ROAD TRUCK A 2001 CHEVY 2500HD WITH A 8.1 LITER OR A 2001 FORD 2500 SUPER DUTY WITH A 6.8 L V10.

The chevy'd be better if you need fast wheel speed (for mud or soft sand) and the ford'd be better if you need more bottom end. I think they'd both be great engines so for most people it wouldn't matter much. Diesel fuel is cheaper though...

I'd get an F-350 Super duty with a 7.3 power stroke Deisel. If I remember correctly I think 4 wheel & off road modified one with Propane????? It might not have been 4W&OR, but anyway they were bragging about drag racing a Mustang and beating it after the mods.

I don't know I have seen some Fords that refuse to die, like my dad's 86 Ranger, he bought it with 200,000 miles on it, (Old Paper delivery truck) Since then he has put another 100,000 or so on it, and it is still pretty reliable.

uhhhhh hmmmmmmmmmm aaaa No offense, but are you saying that a Ford F350 Superduty, 1 ton dually, with a 7.3 Power Stroke Deisel is nothing but a boat anchor? lol!! I personally am a Chevy fan myself, but the F350s even I have to say they are the toughest trucks I have ever seen.

LOL If you since the company paid for them, then settle it once and for all. Chain the bumpers and let us know what happens.

I would almost lay money on it that you have a 700R4 in it then. If so next time scout for one from an 86 or newer, GM built these better and it should last longer.
