I liked the "Kaiser" 4x4 they showed on TRUCKS! TV. I think it had 44's with 2.5 ton axles and selectable front wheel or 4 wheel steering. It looked like a cross between an old jeep and pickup truck with a 6 foot bed. It also looked like it had a removeable (at the time it was removed) hard top. Maybe they built them in the 60's.

I'd like to have a late 60's to early 70's Chevy K-5 Blazer or a short bed pickup.
My second choice would be a 60's to '77 Ford Bronco.
Third choice would be a '97 to '06 Jeep Wrangler.

id like my 98 dodge 3/4 ton to have 4.10 gears, front+rear ARB lockers, 8-inch lift to fit 37s. then either replace my 360 with a cummins or a 440 crate engine. keep the body stock, just put a roll bar with lights and a tube steel rear bumper to match my front one. and also a tougher aftermarket transmission (maybe convert to a manual).

Well, one of my favorite 4x4's of all time has got to be the 1959 Ford F-250. I'd like to build one very similar to this truck http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/brandpages/ford/131_9706_f250 I'd want to sart with a clean truck, do some of the basic restoration and then start modifying. I'd adapt a lift kit for another old Ford model and add some 40 inch TSLs on Super Singles. Then swap in the drivetrain from a '78 F-250. A 351, an NP435, and an NP205. Maybe go with a 390 (like that truck on the link) and put on some Cobra Jet heads and a Mustang intake. Either engine would get a new carb and exhaust...Maybe a hot ignition and a cam. Keep the rear Dana 60 but get a front Dana 44 from a '78 Ford for the high-pinion and power disc brakes. Two-tone paint and a vanity license plate and it'd be set. 59F 250
I've got another idea for a full tube frame S-10, but not on my budget...
