Hello to all(new poster here)! I have a 1989 Dodge D100 Power Ram truck. I want to replace the rusty bed with either a flatbed design or something more suitable for off-road use. I haven't been able to located any homemade bed designs or realistic aftermarket bolt-ons. Any suggestions?

Step side bed with stacks like the "Lil Red Express".

Good idea, but that's a little nicer than what I had in mind. I guess I could get some square tubing and let my imagination run wild!

In all seriousness, If it is use mostly for off road then I would go diamond plate bolted flat to the frame, with a roll bar. If you plan on hauling things with it, you might consider building a box type floor frame with 16 guage steel used for the floor and removable wood sides.

best course is to just build ya a bed, ought to be legal as long as all the lights are there, and isnt shoddily made, maybe consider a carpenter if your not wood inclined
