I mostly drag race but for a little over a year i have been working on a 1980 ford f150 pu........351M/c-6/with np208 transfur case.........the cab has been swapped out with a 86 2wd pu.......this truck was nothing but used and abused before i got it.........only reason i got it was because it stopped running and they replaced a lot of parts and couldn't get it to crank.......(oil pump locked up breaking the dist. gear) .......they were running the pu with no doors......pu bed......35" thornbirds 14.5" wide with no lift....alum eagle rims........and very rusted out cab..........for now it sits with no pu bed or gas tank(looking for flair side bed and matching tank) have small 1 gallon tank on back to run it around the yard untill i finish it up......i have put some 30" all terrains on stock steel rims for now.......i want to put the 35" back on but still decideing on lift kits........i know all i need to know about how they go on but the drive shafts.....is there enough play to keep the stock driveshafts with a 2.5 or 4" lift kit........or does someone make a extention for the 2 part drive shaft...........if not how does this sound.........useing 2" leveling springs in frount with 2 or 3" body lift kit........this will clear the 35" tires....it will need the frount end adjusted for the the 2" springs....that can be handled at an aliment shop can't it..........the truck will be used just playing in local mud holes, sand bars, and few trips to town every now and then.......only payed 400 for the truck and don't want to really change up the suspension that much for a weekend player.......just enough to make sure i can clear something in my way height wise........also later i will be changeing the intake from 2-v carb to EDL performer intake(all ready have) and a 500 cfm EDL carb.......(i know i need a bigger carb but want to save a little gas.......still bigger that the 2-v.....the smaller carb will help throttle response a lot if i go bigger it will not be over 600 cfm) and some exhaust work.......and add a 8000 lbs winch or larger winch to the warn winch guard i found........and a class 3 hitch for the rear(may add a pin on winch for rear later just a hook for now) i don't plan to put any larger tires on this truck in the future.......if i want to go bigger i will find me a older solid axle truck and go from there......... ........ONLY A FOOL NEVER LEARNS THE "TRUTH OF LIES".............
