well i have a 97 Chevy S-10 Blazer with ifs and i've thought about changing it over to soild but all i do is mud in mine and even hitting my 3 ft deep ruts from the side my ifs has held up great all i've had go out is my ball joints and i'm as hard on mine as the next person i mean i wheel with a 84 ram charger and an 84 bronco and i go just as many places as they do with their soilds but that does not change the fact that soilds are like a million % better

Once wheeled with a buddy of mine with a vacume system to engage the 4wd on a s-10 it was always having some kind of issue. Wasnt off road friendly. Vacume lines cracking all the time. Vacume systems suck on any vehicle.

Why?

What other vehicles do you know that come from the factory with front and rear lockers, 35" and 33" AT tires, onboard air, a 4.0:1 t-case, and much more?

Have you ever actually wheeled one?

Worst 4x4? I would have to say any truck/SUV can fall in that catagory depending on the owner and everyone elses likes/dislikes.  Domestic owners are goeing to bash Nissans/Toyotas/etc.,and Import owners are not goeing to be the fondest of Jeeps/Chevys/etc.  H2/H3's get bad names yes, once again by the way they are presented.  People put 24"wheels on them and all of them are bad?  All mall crawlin pavement queens fall in that catagory.  Cookie cutter bolt on trucks? Not really impressive to the person who has to make most everything out of parts for something else.  Fabricating parts is pointless to the person who orders everything.  I guess my point is, no matter what the final decision is everyone is not goeing to be pleased and agree.  Sorry for rambling.

i think that all this push button 4x4 is the biggest joke ever. my toyota has it on the side of the 4x4 shifter it works good though. on the chevys the 88 through about 98 are BAD about the front celinoid to engage the 4x4 goin bad. and like most all 4x4s there only 3 wheel drive. i wish all the 4x4's had manual hubs and shifters, i mean who cares if you have to get out once in a while to lock your hubs ya know.

ok i am a chevy man for life i love the old ones and the new ones and i would have to say that the new chevy is the worst 4x4 because of the ifs i think that they should have a option from factory choosing ifs or straight axle, but then again jeep is the same way the old ones were straight axle and now jeep has ifs exept the wrangler to me that was the worst idea jeep could have done aside the jeep compass
