my problem is that i have a 84 bronco with a dana 44 and IFS. i put a detroit locker in it and i just got 35s. well thats not the problem, the problem is that i have broken the passenger sida axle twice and the driver side once. besides getting a soild front axle, what is the best way to beaf it up and streangthen it?

warn alloy shafts and ctm u-joints. you'll have to really push it to break. someone in this magizine has them in a bronco on 38's (i think) and hasn't broken them. they're very stout pieces.

Warn or Moser hardened axleshafts and CTM u-joints are good but by the time you spend all that money you could almost afford the axle swap. And trust me the axle swap is so much better! I did one in my garage and it isn't too hard.
Another reason for the swap is with the TTB your frame is weak around the radius arm drop brackets. My '84 F-150's frame cracked and bent near the bracket after a couple years of abuse. A straight axle can't torque your frame quite as badly.
