I Have a 3/4 ton 67 chevy with closed knuckle dana 44. The axle has manual drum brakes.  It is frustrating trying to stop with 35inch tires. does any one know if it is possible to swap on disc brakes, and the parts needed. Any input would be great. Thanks

if its a rear, i would swap it for something newer.

you would have less work, and it should be cheaper also.

then again... if its manual with no hydro at all... i dont know what to tell you then.

Skblazer... closed knuckle equals frontend.

67chev, the open knuckle 44s can swap the spindles and backing plates from a disc brake front end, but I'm not sure about the closed knuckle.  You'll need a power brake booster, master cylinder, and a newer proportioning valve made for disc brakes in addition to the spindles, rotors, calipers, brake lines, etc.

Maybe Stainless Steel Brakes, TSM, or Wilwood can assist? Most of the aftermarket disc brake kits for classic Chevy's are for 2WD though....atleast with a quick Google search, although, brake booster and proportioning valve should interchange.
