I know that v8 into s-10s go alot easier with a 3" body lift. A 3" body lift woild definately be benficial for under hood clearance and bellhousing clearance with a 4.3 into a Yota.
It probably fits w/o a body lift, but who doesnt want 3" of lift and an easier time building a chevota?

Thanks for the tip. But I read somewhere that I would need to do a min. of 2" suspension lift and 2" body to get enough clearance. I dont have $500 for a suspension lift. My father-in-law told me that I may be able to crank up the torsion bars to get enough. What do you think.

Everyone has opinions on torsion bar cranks for a method of lift, If you read througha couple of posting in these forums I think you'll see both sides of story.
I personally think a 92 yota shouldnt be cranked more than 1" of lift due to the small diameter of the torsions bars as the will sag really quickly.
The only real gains I could see in a suspension lift helping clear this engine swap would be oil pan to diff clearance? Do some more research and find out why the 2" susp lift is needed and then you'll know for sure whether wou'll be able to get away with a torsion bar crank, or whether the front diff actually needs to be lowered.
Good luck.

I researched the swap recently. Go to advanceadaptors.com, go to yota sect., it'll cost close to a grand to buy just the adapters. They say you need the lift for oil pan clearance, advance sells the oil pan so you don't need the lift.
What set up do you have an your truck? what are you looking to be at. hp? speed, look?you can get you 22re to perform well with minor work, add ons. remember the Toys are built for durability and economy.
Look into a Toyotat 5gm or 7gm engine swap, more power than 4.3, easier to install, easier to get major hp. these engines came in cressidas, adn supras, you could probably get a whole car for 1000.

Body lift will give you clearance for a big ole air cleaner assembly, the suspension lift will give you clearance for the oil pan. It will seperate your IFS from your engine.
