my cuson has a 1983 chevy pickup. it came with the 305 but he just swaped in a 70s 350 crate motor. there is a problem w/ the starter. the selinode (cant spell) shoots out but it dont turn. we tried replacing the starter with a new one but still the same problem. when we set it on the ground and try it with a battery charger it works. mabe the wirering?...
if any one has any ideas how to fix this please respond asap

Check your batt ground, and all connections from the batt to the solenoid.

Also, make sure that the engine block is well grounded, the starter grounds through the engine block and won't crank if it has a bad ground. Maybe when the new engine went in it didn't get properly grounded?

I am having a similar problem, same truck, same motor, but my starter which is brand new just spins and the engine wont crank
