I have an 85 Blazer and I'm putting a 6in lift on it and I am running into problems with the steering arm. I have tried everything from heating it up and hitting it with a sledge hammer to trying specialized pullers for it. I cant seem to get it off. If anybody has any ideas I would greatly appreciate them.

I put a lift on my old truck(82 chevy) and have helped put several lifts on blazers, and I have never ran into a steering arm that was that stuck.
do you have access to a sawzall? you could make two cuts on the arm, almost all the way through to the shaft. make the cuts directly across from each other. just make sure to NOT damage the shaft. you should then be able to split the arm in half, to get it off.
also, if you don't have regular cutting fluid, mix some dish soap with water, in a spray bottle, and keep the blade wet with the mixture. it helps keep the blade cool, and will actuailly cut a little faster.
good luck,

When you remove the nuts off the arm, there are cone shaped washers. these usually have a gapbut sometimes closed up and these can get so tight that they cut thread inside like nuts. spray them good with wd40. Take a screwdriver and hammer and try to turn them as to loosen them like a nut . This worked for me 2 times in the last month.
