Hey guys i need some input. My uncle and i are inexperienced wheelers and would like some input on what to do and use. We have a '77 3/4 ton Chevy truck that we got for plowing snow. We would like to use it for wheelin in the summer. What could we do that would make it capable offroad (in the Badlands Park in Attica, Indiana) yet keep it so it can still plow snow. Any input is appreciated. By the way it has a 350 V-8 and i think a 350 turbo manual trans.

The problem with keeping it as a plow truck, is that you cant raise the frame higher than stock (suspension lift) or your plow will operate on a crappy angle if you dont modify the plow harness.

A body lift and fender cutting are you best methods to fit bigger tires without messing up the plowability of the truck. A 2" susp lift would probably be ok too.

If you are willing to build a custom harness, that you can do what ever you like with the susp.

On a fullsize truck, 35" tires will get you places off road, but still keep the truck useable for everyday things.

Just remove the plow harness when you are going offroading, its nothing but a big low hanging steel anchor that will get you stuck.

Good luck.
