I was curious if anyone could tell me the proper method to shaving a tailgate, and if there is a certain way to mold an LED strip between tailgate and roll pan from a boddy kit. im a little lost on what i have to properly do and in what order to do it.

thanx-

I was thinking the same thing! 1/4 ton 10 bolts are about as damn good as you are ever going to get for ground clearance on a low pinion axle...plus there is NO excess casting to shave......then I read the post.

I think you guys read his question wrong, he wants to shave the handle off of his tailgate, to make it look smooth. You know the stupid stuff that street racers do to make their vehicles less functional.

I know.

That's why my reply says, " and then I read the post".

My comments were towards the interpreting the title of the post in an off-road manner.

remove the handle and cut a piece of sheet metel out that just barly fits in the whole not flush in the whole. when you weld use a cold wet rag and cool the area after each weld until you dont feel anymore heat in the metal.you should use a wirefeed welder on a low setting because you will blow holes in the metal very easy maybe practice if you never welded on a car before.
