hey all, new to this forum an not sure what protocall is compared to the other ones i frequent so heres me question.
my truck: 1990 F150 XLT Lariat 302 w/ 5speed M5OD tranny, Dana 44 TTB front, Ford 8.8 rear
i am about to begin a project to swap both axles for a Sterling 10.25 rear, and Dana 60 HP front. my question is, has anyone ever done this? and if so, how did you deal with the changing of the front srings (F150 has springs, Dana 60 bolts to springs) im tossing around which switch would be better, convert the truck to front leaves and deal with axle wrap (probably do a reverse shackle if thats the case) or convert the D60 to springs and hand peice the shocks/springs for the right amount of lift (8'' overall, no body lift)
advice/ideas

are you going coil spring or leaf spring. if you go coil which is what i would do check out Cage offroad, they are working on a D60 coil spring swap kit for your truck. A few guys over at Fullsizebronco.com are using there product already and love it. the quality and workmanship is second to none. also check out the fullsizebronco website they have a complete forum dedicated to SAS installs with parts list and what it will take to perform the swap.
