I just got a 96 suburban about a month ago, i want to swap out the IFS with a solid axle. i want to know all the parts that ill need, id prefer coil's rather than leaf, and what junk vehicals i can take the axle from. the suburban is a 3/4 ton. anyone who can let me know all the parts ill need, it will be greatly appreciated.

I too am doing a solid axle swap in a 95 Silverado, however I am going with leafs for their ability to carry the weight of a snowplow better than coils. Im having trouble trying to find an axle with a drivers side diff. What vehicle can I get one from? Also wondering if you went with a conversion kit or if you are doing it yourself. I am a fabricator by trade and a "do it yourself"er. Not really sure though if I can handle a job like this in my driveway and do it right or not. Sounds easy, just a couple shackle mounts and shock hoops, and a whole lot o' cuttin'. I guess well find out.
