Hey Everyone,
I have a '72 Fj40 on 33" tires that was my daily driver/weekend warrior but recently blew the engine out. I have dropped in a fuel injected 350 from a 95 suburban and mated it to the stock drivetrain and converted it to power steering. However, I am now thinking about an automatic and possibly a new t-case from a wrecked truck. Does anyone have any recommendations and transmision and t-cases. I am concerned about costs(college student) and overall length so that i will not have driveshaft issues. I would like a 4spd(700R4) and maybe a NP208 since it has a lower ratio than the 205. I know it is not as strong but with just a 350 and a skid plate for protection should be alright. Any advice you could give would be great so that I can get it on the road/trail again.
