i own a 96 sierra k1500 z71. i would like to know what transmission is in the truck. mine just went out and im looking for a new one. i have a 350 in it. thanks.

it is a 4L60E You can use anything form 96 to present but you have to use a vortec gen 1 converter. 99 GM went to a covex flex plate and the converter has a longer pilot shaft. I usually go with the 05 and newer 4L65E it is the revised 4L60E and chances are you will find one with low mileage. Let me know if you need one, I may be able to hook you up.
