I'm new to some of this stuff but maybe someone can help.  I put my 94 z71 in storage for a coulpe months due to a deployment to iraq.  That four months has turned in 15 months and is nearing the end.  I'm wondering about the best way to go about breaking it back in while doing as little damage as possible.  I know I'll have to replace all the fluids.  But will I have to change all the bearings and oil seals across the board.  I'm worried alot has dried out and I don't want to miss anything when getting it back on the road.  It's been stored in North Carolina where the temps. don't get too cold except for the dead of winter.  Any suggestions or feedback would be great. Thanks alot.

It's not the cold that you have to worry about for storage of your truck, it is the humidity causing condensation on internal parts.  When you see condensation on the outside of the engine, it is doing the same thing on the inside where ever there is not a coating of oil, and with that much time gear lube and engine oil settle down the leave the metal dry.  Also going from freezing temps to above freezing fast (like from out side to inside a heated building will cause frost on the outside as well as on the inside.  I would not be too concerned about greased bearings.  At this point your most cost effective choice in to change all fluids, drive it up to 500 miles and change the fluids again.  This will be hind sight for you, but the best thing is to prepair things for storage right away that are not going to be used for a month or more.

Yea, like GM said, change the fluids a couple times and it should be good to go. If something starts leaking fix from there.
