I have an 02' silverado 1500.  I got stuck in about 3 feet of mud and water.  My 4wd went out on me when i got stuck.  I have replaced my 4wd actuator on my front end.  My 4wd still won't engage in hi or low.  If I hear my tranfer case and the actuator making noise, what else could it be?

do you have the push button switch on the left hand side of the dash? if so it might be the switch. i've seen those fail quite often. whether it be standard 4x4 switch or auto 4wd. and if so the button you push will just sit there and blink at you like it dont know what you want done of it. id try that, not too expensive.

i put my truck into 2hi and i rotated the drive line to the front end.  I put it into 4hi and it would not move.  so the 4wd engages but the front wheels wont spin?  what is going on?

hope you didnt flood the frt diff or the transfer case.
are you talking about the motor on the t case cause that dont like water either.(electical stuff...go fugure.)you said you switched out the frt actu. the t case motor is on the side of case right where the water is. that puppy is about 350$
when i was working for a chevy dealer this dude bought a new avalanche z71 and thought he could cross a river, couple 2-3 ft deep. WRONG!!!!! he had to pay for a new trans/t case, drain and refill both diffs, oil change. warranty would not cover,so basically he trashed a 50k avalanche in one day

You think it could be the transfer case motor.
I will look into it, but I can here it shifting and making noise when i shift into 4hi and 4lo????!!!!.  How would I be able to troublshoot and actually see if the transfer case motor would be the problem?

i believe the signal for the frt actu. comes from the switch on the dash and goes through the t case motor to kick the frt end in.if the t case motor isnt receiving the signal then you wont have 4wd.
if you have a buddy at a chevy dealership i would have them hook the tech 2 up and see if thats the prob.
thats the only other thing i can think of.
hope this helps out......sorry you have problems, dont give up on the ol girl

i believe it will, unfortunatly i dont know what volts it should read. done some research and found this site.
go to www.2carpros.com/forum/service-4wd-message-vt68902.html, scroll down about half way and look for document id# 525340 dtc b2725 atc mode switch circuit malfuction.
this tells what the volts should be.
if that dont help you then the dealer is your last resort
hope that helps

I checked out my switches on my dash and all push buttons read fine as far as voltage and working.  If there are any other ideas, please let me know before I take it in to the shop?

i had a 90 chevy that the actuator failed and didnt want to spend the money right away so i put a socket in the hole of the actuator and a c clamp to mud rid.  i also heard that you can get a bad one from the factory so you might want to try the socket and C clamp to see if it pulls and go from there.  hope this helps.  also if you dont already know, if you dont mind running a cable to the inside of your truck, they make a manual lock in place of that actuator if you cant fix it.  its pretty cheap to.
