I am turning my 94 explorer into a 4wd. I have everything I need but what I was wondering was if the transfer case off the donor truck will work to my tranny if I remove the tail shaft ? I am pretty sure that the 5 bolt pattern is the same. Donor truck was a 91' 4 door auto and mine is a 94' 2 door 5 spd. Thanks for any info.

It should yes. But I believe you will need the 4WD tail shaft housing off the donor.

I pretty sure it should work, I'm guessing your putting a manual case, they are much more reliable then the auto cases. I switched mine out to a manual in about 30 mins or less.

I forgot to ask... what are you doing about the beam mounts? The 2wd and 4wd mounts on Rangers are different and I would assume Explorers are the same...

I have been looking at it and from what i see is that i will have to change the mounts also but that is only half a dozen bolts and four rivets that need to be drilled out. I HOPE.
