I'm new to the forums and had a question but first just wanted to say hi to everyone and personally I've already found this site usefull so thanks. My question applies to an 85' Toyota 4x4 with the 22R. I'm use to doing my wheelin with fuel injected rigs and I've heard people have had problems with their carbs at certain angles especial steep hills. I happen to do alot of hill climbs and this is a concern of mine. So, is there a carb out there for the 22R thats better than the Webber to handle these angles or a kit of some kind?

Downey off road offers holley 350 for 22R rather pricey though.

You will likely have problems. I have a friend who ran a 22r in a desert truck and had all kinds of issues with it. But then I know another one who won a championship with a 22r... so yea... I hate to say it but I'm no help, you're just going to have to run it and find out.
The one thing I do know however, when you're up on the obstacle and the engine dies because the carb is at to much of an angle to work, it is going to really suck in one way or another. If I were you I'd look into a 22re or at least a swap for your 22r. You'll be much happier in the end.
Maybe Fred will see this, I think at one point Clampy was a 22r... could be wrong though.
