I believe Skyjacker makes a six inch for it. 6 inches of lift, probably 33's, 35's if you feel like cuttin up the body... You'd be surprised at how much better it would do with two more inches of tire...

There are tons of good lift kits out there for your TTB Ranger. Or you could do like Ali did with the Ultimate Danger Ranger and do a Solid Axle Swap.

If you want to keep it the hight you have now I would suggest a good set of rock sliders, a winch, and maybe some bumpers. Also a good place to start is with a roll cage, not an 80's roll bar, an honest cage. Everything should have a cage.

Good luck and have fun!

Hi 93ranger,
Your choice of vehicle (same as mine except 1996) is relatively obscure in the 4x4 world.  I subscribe to 4wor but Rangers get very little coverage.  A site that has tons of info about Rangers is www.therangerstation.com  --I am not trying to pull you away from 4wor; it's just that www.trs.com is a better resource for Ranger-only stuff.  To better help you accomplish your goal of being better prepared for trail riding, we need to know more about your truck.  I suggest, with no knowledge other than year and mild trail use,  tires and rear locker:  (1) A mud tire such as BFG's new KM2 and; (2) A LockRight automatic locking differential for your rear axle (you probably have, at best, a limited-slip differential) will improve your off-road ability tremendously.  If you have a TTB (Twin Traction Beam) front axle, you will be experiencing a Pandora's box of challenges, starting with accelerated tire wear on your daily driver miles.  If you decide to get more agressive than light trail use, start thinking about SAS (Solid Axle Swap)--Ali's D30 is too lightweight, by most accounts.  A D44 from an EB (Early Bronco) is minimum and may be the best for you; another SAS choice (my favorite) is the 78-79 Ford HP (High Pinion) D60.  Bottom line:  study the options for about a year so that you are well-versed regarding the components, tools and skills needed or shop to do it for you if you can not, type of wheeling you want to do, and the system that you want (engine, transmission, transfer case, axles, axle gears, differentials [open, auto, combination limited-slip/electric, air or electric locker, spool] tire diameter).  Welcome!  Off-roading is a wonderful world, and you are just getting started.  We're here to help--you just need patience.  airborn_ranger
