I am the proud owner of a stock 90 K2500 4X4 8-lug Chevy. I need to know the biggest tire and rim size I can get away with, without any type of body or suspension lift. My problems are as follows: the tires on there now are 235/85R16, I have been looking at wheel and tire packages and I cannot find 8-lugs in any rim smaller then 16X8 which is fine but what tires can I stuff in there. I am mechanically inclined and can handle whatever needs to be done. (cutting bumpers or fenders, or adjusting steering stops) I love the Mickey Thompson Radial Claw and MTZ's but according to their tire fitment guide I can only go with a 265/75R16 without a body lift but that same tire guide says that the 235/85's shouldn't fit and that is what is there now. So basically to make this simple, I have to replace my old tires and I wouldn't mind buying new rims at the same time but if I am dropping all this cash I want something awesome. But I do not want to go through the hassle or expense of changing my ride height. This is long-winded I know but please guys help me out.

you shold be able to fit 285/75/16 tires stock, on my 2000, K3500 4x4 singe rear wheel chevy i put on 305/70/16 about 33 inc tall and had to crank up torsion bars 3 inc to fit but it had horrible ride so i dropped the bars back down and cut the fenders a little to fit, the tires only rubbed on hard turns under compression. The truck looked really cool!!!
Solid axle chevys can't be beat! My dream truck: 73-91 chevy 3500 crew cab srw with dana 60/14bolt, 6 inc long travel lift with KING shocks, 37 inc tires and a 24v cummins diesel, nv5600 and np205
