I have an 84 dodge w-150 with a 318 AT . I always had to mess with the shifter to get to start. Now it will not start at all. Battery is fine. Thought it might be the neutral safety switch as the connection of the wiring harness did not seem good. Although I havent bought a new harness I did wire it up to where it should have bypassed the neutral switch. Also thought it could be something with the starter but it is not making any noise at all nor have i ever had any issues with it before. Thanks.

That really really sounds like the neutral safety switch... I would replace it rather than bypass it, completely eliminate that variable if it isn't the switch.

Well I finally got around to putting in that neutral safety switch and a new wiring harness and sure enough that did it. Thanks again.
