I am in the process of swapping in a 3.4l v6 out of a 2000 toyota 4runner into a 92 toyota pick up in place of the troublesome 3.0, ive got the motor and trans bolted in and have got the steering stuff connected as well as fuel hoses now my problem is all the electrical stuff i have the ecu for the 3.4 form the 4runner but i am scared by all the losse connectors that are attached to the engine that i have no idea where they go, i want the truck to pass smog, also how will all the internal gauges and winshield wiper, lights etc be connected to the later 3.4 motor ecu. PLEASE HELP any pictures or info is greatley appreciated, thanks

have you tried to look for the wiring diagrams for the engine/trans combo and also the truck that you are putting them into.

there is a more informative way and more accurate. the website is www.helminc.com, they have the factory manuals for sale they are kind of expensive but are worth there weight in gold, for the information that you are going to need for this kind of a swap. this is infromation that i ran into looking for information on the, swap that i am currently doing. i am putting a 02 chey 4.3ltr. into a 89 sidekick along with the trans and emissions from the chevy. hopefully this helps and good luck with the swap.

You can do it with a wiring harness adapter, (we swapped a 3.0[88] to a supercharged 3.4[99])and maintain your factory gauges. Try offroadsolutions.com aka ORS they will ask you for your year and model and can build you a harness to complete your swap. We did it in the 4runner and it works great. A note of caution.. transfer any and all smog equipment. The computer needs the info or it throws trouble codes. Good luck

so without a wiring harness adapter my stock gauges and instumetns like headlights and wiper swicthes wont work with new motor? will I need to use all the smog stuff from 3.4 motor or can some of the 3.0 stuff be used? I got my 3.4 from a 2000 4 runner and i dont know wheater it had one or two catalytic converters, i ve gotten some info off the ors website but now im getting into the hard stuff of all the smog equipment, sensors and stuff, i might have to buy an ors instruction manual that comes with their swap kit huh? Thanks i really aprreciate it
