i'd suggest a cummins 4bt outa a ups truck or something along those lines... i know that you can find them with a chevy transmission bolt pattern which will make life much easier on you... you don't have a whole lot of space under the bonnett on that old bird and while it's one stout rig make sure the frame is in good condition... really good condition... you'll more then likely have to upgrade the axles while your at it... i've seen one set up with a full 5.9 cummins... with parts sticking out in odd spots... namely the turbo... you in the laramie shop of wyotech???

I second the 4bt... though a Duramax would be cool too

I'm sure I'll be in the vast minority with this, but, get an Izuzu 4 cyl diesel and it'll fit nicely, won't overload your driveline. It'll be a great daily driver!
