We've all seen them before. Five favorite rigs of all time; Most influential rigs; Best builder rigs, yada, yada, yada...
I think it's time to do the obvious. What are the editors favorite Ultimate Adventure Rig? Each editor gets to choose one (and only one) and explain why his choice is the best. Now here's where it gets dicey. I was thinking of limiting the choice to the vehicles that they built themselves like the Rubi-wagon or Tacoma. I could be persuaded to add in rigs like the Danger Ranger that were built to go on the trip, yet weren't the "star" of the show, but do you think that ALL the rigs should be allowed to be chosen from (like Tim Hardy's thrashed Samurai)? Shout out your thoughts.
PS: I can see the editors eyes rolling already.

Not a bad idea, but what about the readers, maybe that's more important for them to say what they liked the best? What about you, what was your favorite buildup, and why, and what was your favorite other ride, be it sponsors rig, readers, freinds, or trail crew? Rick Pewe

The Ultimate Super Duty has become the Ultimate Parking Space Hog...
I believe the UA-SD is one of only two of the UA vehicles that doesn't 'run'. If I remember right it's fighting some sort of front end problem and nobody really has the time right now to figure it out.

good question,
the drivetrain in the fj cruiser is awesome, supercharged 4.0, 6-speed manual, 4-speed atlas and locked dynatrac dana 60's with 39-inch tires. unfortunately the body is impossible to see out of.
the big rubiwagon is pretty awesome as well and i would probably take it before the fj.
and of course i can't deny clampy as a hell of a lot of fun to drive either, but i'm a bit partial to that truck since it's mine.
so those are my three favorites, as of today, though i do like the avalanche just because it is a monstrocity.

The UA Super Duty was one of my favorites when I was a reader and it's still cool to see a behemoth like that out on the trail.
The FJ is hard to see out of, but very well equipped as Fred mentioned and the Avalanche get's cool points for being the monster that it is.
But, that Danger Ranger was pretty awesome from '07. I mean who does the UA with a Dana 30.....

Well my favorites are:
UA Rubiwagon. Has Pewe been pried from the steering wheel yet?
The Danger Ranger. A real world 4-by with real world driving.
UA Chevy pickup. Realistic and old school.
If I had to steal one, it'd be the Rubiwagon. I think I could distract Pewe by yelling "Look! Coloniel Mustard!" and take off in it as he's looking for the yellow flattie.
