it doesn't matter to me if the vehicle has independent front end, since i won't be off roading. full size chevys from 1973-1987 are affordable, i have a 91 full size blazer that i am working on. so far i have put a 5 inch lift on, replaced the rusted floor pans, put new shocks on, put new springs in. i bought it for $600. i have been looking carefully and have been patient to not jump at the first truck i saw. what is considered a lot of miles on a truck, and is that universal to all trucks?

The more important thing is how the miles were put on and how the vehical was maintained.  I am not afraid of 150,000+ miles.  For a new car dealer, they really don't want vehicals over 100,000 miles and would send anything with 150,000+ miles to auction if they were to even take it on trade.  The 95 Jeep (ZJ) Grand Cherokee that I bought 2 months ago had 175,000 miles on it when I bought it and the 5.2L engine runs good, the trans had been rebuilt about 45,000 miles before; I did have to replace the left front bearing/hub assembly, everything for the rear brakes, rear axle shaft seals and rear pinion seal, and some minor other things.  My 89 Suburban now has about 141,000 miles on it.  The older vehicals that didn't show more than 99,999 miles before starting over are harder to determine miles when you buy them used with known over 100,000 miles so I believe that some of my other vehicals are over 200,000 miles.

does anyone know what a gmc typhoon is? i have seen pictures of them but i don't what the difference is from other gmc vehicles. how much can i expect to pay for a 60's to 70's gmc pickup or balzer? i know the price will depend on the condition of the vehicle and other things, but i was wondering what the ball park price would be.

the typhoon is probably one of the baddest factory turbod awd rigs on the market!! only a couple of yrs made and i believe about 250-300hp stock and gmc also had the p-up version calle the syclone also baaaaad azzzz
fast!
69-72 k blazers expect to pay anywhere from 1500(crappy)to 5500 good decent shape

the typhoon is 2 wheel drive right? the syclone also 2 wheel drive or is it 4 wheel drive? how many were made and from what years? how much would you expect to pay for a typhoon or syclone? they both sound like bad ass vehicles. what would i expect to pay for a 1969 gmc pickup? what years did the chevy blazer have a fully removeable roof? the 69 blazer would be harder to find ion decent condition, there weren't many made. the 69 blazer would also be pretty expensive.

th typhoon/syclone were all wheel drive!and were only produced for 2 yrs i think...youd pay around the 10-15k$ mark, for the price and performance theyre hard to beat!
69 gmc p-up id guess in the 1500-4500 range for crappy to good condition...the k5 blazer had removable tops from the 69yr to 75-76 yr...and yeah the 69 is hard to find in any shape be it good shape or bad...hp rating for the typhoon has been debated but around the 285-330 depending on who u talk to...

The 76 - 91 Blazers had the half top removable.  The 69 - 72, and 73 - 75 had full top removable.  The 69 - 72 is more of a collector so the price will be higher for those.  Even the 73 - 75 will be higher priced than 76 and up because of the full top removable.

the 76 and later blazers aren't seen as collectable? what was the reason for going from a full top removeable to half top removeable? the later model blazers can also be very hard to find, i own a 91 blazer and haven't seen many around, i have seen even fewer for sale.

hey 91blazer wher do you live cause i see the k5s of all years all over the place up here in montana!...the logical reason for going to half top instead of full top was a safty issue for rollovers!kinda would suck if you rolled over and killed the hole fam!...my dad in law has a 68 bronco p-up style and want 4500$...so yeah the old sqaure small bronco are more expensive than the newer ones...500$-6500$ depending on rust.

i understand the safety reason. but if the vehicle came with seat belts from the factory then they should be worn and would help you from being ejected from the vehicle i live in wisconsin, and i do see some balzers and suburans around but they mostly newer models or extremly rusted older models.i love the styling of the older gmc/chevy pickups, and the older balzers/bronco. i really like the front end styling of the 69 gmc pickups, older gmcs aren't around as much as chevys.

yes seatbelts should be worn at all times but some people think otherwise! i myself like the looks of the gmc model p-ups from the 60s-70s and yes theyre more of a rare comodity, ive even seen the gmc's more expensive than chevys because of that fact...so let us know what you find...oh hey i just remembered that i seen a 76 k5 blazer for sale up here for $350 w/no engine of course!

if the body bon that blazer is in good shape the price doesn't seem that bad. i sometimes find seat belts an inconvience but they will still help save my life. do you like the 60's-70's bronco? those are pretty expensive too, and one of the rarest but my fav is the roadster version of the older style bronco. i think any vehicle looks good with out doors or with tube doors.
