I am always trying new things in my crawler and the newest that poped in my mind is dual tranny. I have a EOD that I was going to mate to a T-19. It would give me 12 foward gears, I would have to put a lock on revers in the T-19. The way I look at it you wouldnt need a clutch if it was behind the E4OD if you shift the T-19 at a stop. Plus it would give me a super low 1st gear. My question is I have never heard of it being done... Is there something I am overlooking???

I also thought about 2 trannys.. I wanted to use 2 four speeds(only one clutch). there would be no oiling problems like with the transfer case, my only thought was the shifting linkage. an auto solves that problem, but youll have cooling to deal with. let us know what you come up with....

Its going in a scout but the ford TPI302 will have the auto off it so the cooling lines will be in the same spot the only thing i'm trying to come up with is how to mate the T-19 to the 4EOD.

you could try talking to local machine shops, some of the upper end shops may have the equipment you need to create some kind of coller. as for placement for the second tranny perhaps a 2nd cross member (just in case it doesnt work out, your not out a couple hundred bucks for some funk one of a kind adapter)and you can remove it later with almost permenant scars. In the same place? do you mean to the radiator? an after market cooler is a must, better if it has a cooling fan

It seems a far easier way to do this would be to swap in a NP205 with a NP203 reduction unit added to it. This would give you 1 to 1, 2 to 1 and 4 to one in Tcase so you would have 3x the number of tranny gears for total speeds in a much cleaner install.

But the 4EOD has a first gear of about 6-1 and the T-19 has a first of about 7-1 the 300 has a 4-1. That gives me a much lower gear than the dual T-cases. Plus the T-19 without the bellhousing is not much longer then the 205 so if done rite it would look clean.
