I think i damaged my front ring and pinion, What is the stock ratio in an 88 toyota v6 pickup?? Would it be a good idea to install a locker in the front end while i have it apart ( without putting one in the rear, [of course i will install one in the rear later, when i have the money]) ? Thanks!

Yeah, if you can afford it. Its best to put one in the rear first, or so says 4WOR staff, but since its apart, Go for it.

You can always weld the rear end. Just cover everything with grease so, as you weld, it doesn't spatter and get in you axle's 'shaft's' splines or elsewhere you don't want spatter.

To check the stock ratio, check on the axle for an ID tag.  You can find out what it means on the internet.  I think pirate4x4 has a chart.  Try wikipedia too.  If you do go with different ratios in your axles, don't put it into 4wd until the other axle has been changed to match.  You may end up replacing another r and p if you do.

Lincoln lockers should be strictly avoided. You will be ALWAYS skidding rear tires in turns and it will be a heart attack on ice. It can increase turn radius too as well as shorten tire life.
