Still Rough And Tough

The '88-'98 Chevy trucks, Tahoes, Suburbans, and Yukons are very common and the prices are dropping quickly. The newly redesigned Rough Country 4- and 6-inch suspensions for the 1500 model variants come complete with front and rear crossmembers, durable differential drop brackets, and drop torsion bar brackets, as well as new kicker braces and upper and lower control-arm drops.

Hi everyone,

I need help with my project.  I'm building an international travelall.  A good friend did the lift and we put 38 inch tires.  I have a dana 44 in front and dana 60 in the rear and I have a 350 chevy motor for it.  Here is where I'm having difficulty deciding.  I have a 460le tranny with transfer case attached that I can use but I've heard this tranny/t-case set up is not the best.  I'm planning on doing mild trails nothing too crazy.  I have a 400 tranny with no t-case, I would have to buy a np205 for it or something like that.  The question is do you guys believe that the 460le tranny/t-case will be fine or it would be better for me to use the 400 tranny and look for the np205 t-case?  Your input it's greatly appreciated, I'm new at 4x4 and I want to do it the right way but of course I don't want to spend money if I don't have to.  Thanks.

I would not spend the money for a new tranny case. UNLESS, you plan on doing extensive wheeling,or towing.
