I hate to sound mean but you would have much better luck selling this truck and just buying a 4wd. You could get alink setup similar to the dodge 4x4 and get coils and a front axle and then replace the tailshaft on the tranny and get a t-case and then get it all to work, but you would be into it for a lot of money and it would make a lot more sense to just buy a 4wd, however if you have your heart set on the swap, I can go into more detail. ...

I have to agree w buying a new truck. I looked at trying to do this on a Nissan I had, and if you don't have all the part right on hand, and the ability to do it yourself you will spend far more than what the vehical is worth. If you sell it or wrech it you'll never see a penny back for you 4x4 add on.

Simple answer is don't bother.
It will cost more than the truck is worth. Sell it and get yourself a factory 4x4.

THe only way it can be done semi-cheaply is if you find a donor truck w/ a blown motor or something and just steal all the parts off that, but its still going to cost a bunch!

Pretty easy, sell/trade it off and get a 4x4 model. It is not worth money or effort.

Do you live anywhere near Southeast MO? I've got a 97 4x4 1/2ton ram clubcab with a 360 that I'd be willing to part with... I live in Southeast MO about 100mi North of Memphis, Tn. I could get close to $1000 for scrap-metal (it IS a 6400# truck), but I'd rather somebody resurrect it if I can't. Either way, it's been a good truck for me, I just didn't have the money to fix it.
