I have been told by several people not to run an Eaton E-locker in my D60 with 38"+ tires, and that I should go with an ARB.

Something about the E-LOCKER not being warrantied above 33" tires or something.

Anyone have info one way or the other?

How much tire a axle/diff can handle depends a lot of the vehicle it is used in. Example. a locker in a 3ton plus truck with 33's is going to tax axle more than Jeep that weigh less than 4000 lbs with 36's or so. If your application is in a light weight Jeep, I would not worry much about it. The is the torque load on axle with is determined by tire size and weight on axle (which increases traction potential and therefore peak torque loads). It not HP as some suggest but rather torque load being transmitted. You can break a D60 axle with 50 HP with right gears and traction load on axle. This is why my old 30 HP tractor has 3 inch axle shafts because of the torque load placed on them from 14 inch wide 52 inch cleated tires tires and suspending the weight too. If that tractor had a D60 with its tires it would break it first time is pulled hard even with just 30 HP.

I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE W/RANDYS RING AND PINION AND ASKED FOR YA ABOUT THE EATON W/38"+ TIRES AND HE SAID THAT THEY WONT BE COVERED UNDER WARR. BECAUSE OF THE STRENGTH AND SUGGESTED THE ARB BEACAUSE ITS STRONGER AND CAN HANDLE THE BIGGER MEATS...HOPE THAT HELPS YOU GO IN THE STRONGEST DIRECTION.
