cruisin round the web ,i saw MOPARTS.com had a center section from a viper,.figure its comparable to a dana 44 in strength.It would be cool to fab up a housing for a front and rear setup,so ya can make a fully independant lightweight rig.or buggy,or rally car,or rally truck,or pre runner,or a low center of gravity,high clearance rig.happy wheelin!

If I was going to do something like that and money was no object, I would use the drive axles from a H1 hummer because they are fully independent AND have a reduction unit in hubs with a high drive connection well above wheel spindle center line when make for more clearance. Far stronger than a Viper setup too.

The viper center section is an Aluminum 44, virtually the same center section found in the rear of the ZJ (93-98 Grand Cherokee). Building the AL44 is a bit of a challenge since regular 44 parts are not the exactly the same. A cool center section for a completely IFS/IRS rig would be a set of 9-inches and remember you have to get them to spin the opposite way if you are planning on running portals like what’s in the H1
