i am currently working on taking a 1978 chevy 4x4 suburban and turning it into a 6 wheel drive i plan on putting in a GM perfomance parts 502 off road motor and want to put in an atlas 4 transfer case the plan is to couple them to a TH400 tranny i would like to know if anyone knows a company that sells TH400's built for 450+ horse power and 550+ lbs/ft torque and what else would i need if i do need it to mate the atlas transfer case to that tranny

So youre gonna mate 1 atlas to the 400, then run the rear shaft to the second atlas. which is gonna run the front axle#2-or reverse geared axle. that will take the power from the front output of t-case 2,and the rear will feed the rear most axle, that way the front otput from t-case 1 will feed the front axle. right? 1, both t cases will always have to be in same gear, any where the grounds kinda hard? 2. the trannys going to push all that metal around and will need all the torque capy it can handle. It will be cool when your done and will probably never get stuck!!! luck to ya and i hope the drive shaft angle on the rear most output wont be too tight, ime not knocking ya, i think it will be awwwsuuummm!happy wheelin look at jegs or summit.com for the tranny ideas, ime pretty sure some reader/racers have a fave!
