Is it a nightmare to even think about it? ime not a heavy wheeler,just seein if i can make a deep sand worthy rig on the cheap.i figure gears a rear detroit,a front selectable,or l/slip a 4" lift and flairs to clear the rubber,feasable? just weiging my options

If you do it, stay away from a detriot type locker as it will add strain to axles being overtaxed by tires and sand. Also I do not think that it would really help much in sand either anyway. With deepest possible gears you can find and stock motor it should not do too bad.

Thank snoman,figured to float on the sand with the wide tires.5.29 gears and stock motor and trans.

I do believe I would do to the wall here and install 5.71's. You would need all the leverage you could get in sand with those tires and with stock engine you are not likely to break anything either.

Thats kinda what i was shooting for,kinda hybrid,full on stock as i can,with q ship capability,figured they'er so under powered for their build that i could sneek by som breakage issues.hopefully by late this year i'll get to start.and ya know what,it'll probably run 33/12.50s on a 10 inch rim,just cause it looks right! champagne taste,shieffer light budgit. thanks!

With that tall and wide a tire, your biggest problem will be broken CV joints. And your turning radius will suck big time with that wide a tire.

Better start stocking up on spare CV axles now.

Its more of a parody of a 4 by than anything else,trying to do the most w/tha least/saw an article saying a 302 ford fit easyer than tha cheebee,narrower and lighter,and at 347 stroked,in a 5.0 size,hmmm,a TKO T5 @600lb capy an a divorced nu style 3 speed t case,again hmmm.and a 4 link jeep 44 and rear from a rubicon and ,wait going a little too far..
