have a 96 f350 powerstroke that I cant even drive cause the wobbleis so bad. did the balls it got worse! wondering if the steering box is giving me problems. front end is tight. any oppinions?

Sounds like you have a classic caster/toe death wobble. It is a alignment issue causing front end to be dynamically unstable. Check caster, camber and toe in carefully. Start with toe and you want it to be about 1/32 to 3/64 th's tops.With too much toe in the tires build up stress in them as they are trying to track in but cannot and the can skip, squirm and jump causing front end to shake as it loads and unloads from side to side and caster angle can aggravate or cause this too.

thanks for that. How do u go about checking and adjusting caster on that piece? it's also wiping the outer half of the tires quickly. also when I did the balls I found that someone had forgot to tighten the sleeve 2 the tie rod end that attaches to pitman arm. I took the wobble out of that, and it seemed to makeit worse.

The tire wear suggests toe in and or camber issues. I assume you have a solid front axle right? (some models had a D50 TTB front end) Get some help and get a tape measure and find a common point to use on front tires to measure the amount of toe by measure tires spread in rear and front as close to axle center line as possible in height then post what you find (do this a couple of times and make sure your figures are consistent)

you really need to find a good alignment shop. has it been lifted?

You can sort this out yourself with a straight axle and a little tweaking.

Take a good unsprung look at the track bar and those mickey mouse wrong end of the spring front shackles Also! With the wieght of the oil burner over the front the track bar and the front shackles are usually worn by 100k and with a toe in/out of adjustment it can create for some white knukle drives
