My boys and I have a field Jeep,an '87 Cherokee Chief bought for $400 in '05. This is a beast of a RAT,it's odometer reads 357,xxx miles and everything major worked,it wasn't pretty but our family's motto is "pretty is as pretty does". 4 litre 6cyl until about 6months into ownership when we ran it dry hot and siezed. After it cooled off it ran,we found out #1 cyl has 0 compression. Still runs and in '06 my family used it to do 150 a day round trip to the hospital where I was for two months. Anyway it is past all that now,so we use it as a field/wood truck. Now the new project;we're cutting out the rear roof pilars and taking out the side windows(hatch gone already) the just pound down roof to floor and bolt/weld together and voila... a Comanchee pickup truck. There will be lousy pictures to follow. Thanx and keep having fun.

Got rear pillars and windows out, backseat and interior trim. We were going to pound/fold the roof over but, didn't like the line. Went to cut the roof on line of our pleasure when the cutting wheel broke. Just got new wheel this morning and will finish this week end. Hillbilly Engineering Inc.
