im currently looking at 2006 jeep liberty for my wife it has 3.7l engine auto trannie dnt know gear ratio but im planning on adding 3.5 rock krawler suspension and some 265/75/16 tires i have few questions one is would i be able to run 285s with little trimming and next question is with either tires to i need to regear the drivetrain and if so what gear ratio should i drop 2

The 285s will rub a little when articulation is high and if the tire is turned, it rubs worse. 265s are going to be your best bet, besides it is only 1 inch at the most usable clearance. And they do make a set of 4.10 gears and lockers for the liberty. Many say that liberty is a bad idea, but I say it depends on the driver skill.
