Please visit our homepage @ myspace.com/savethetonto - Major changes are in the works in the entire national forest trail system. The latest change is the travel management rule. I only have time to focus on my favorite trails in the Tonto National Forest outside of Phoenix, AZ. If you are from the phoenix metro area, payson, pinetop, etc., this will affect your four wheeling trails.

The travel management rule requires all local ranger districts to come up with a map of trails and to designate those trails for ohv or non ohv use with public input. please be active on the national forest website, as this is a nationwide change.

my main focus is the tonto national forest. the new map will be printed by september 2008 for the cave creek ranger district. this includes all trails near bartlett lake - like trail 1142 "Telegraph Line Road" a trail that has lured local 4x4's for many years. please be active in checking your local NF website to get involved. the local ranger districts here in phoenix won't give us a local hearing date. i'm sure many other ranger districts across the nation are the same way. they think they can sneak by the public and close everything.
