I am looking at upgrading my 22RE out of a 94 toyota.  I am considering either the 2.7L out of a Tacoma or a 4.3L Vortec.  What type of modifications will I need to make?  Anybody have an idea of the installation costs (are we talking $1000 or $10000)?
Thanks for any information.

The 4.3, many mods. A 2.7, 3.0, 3.4, 4.0 would be alot easier.

Price depends on what you are using. New engine? Rebuilt? Junkyard? You doing the labor or paying somebody? If you are doing the work a good bet would be $2500 complete, beginning to end, including all the nickel and dime stuff that will set you back.

You are going to be better off checking www.car-parts.com to find an engine, this guy hasn't logged on in nearly a year...
