I am currently shopping for tires on my daily driver and need some opinions. I drive a 95 k1500 with 33's.I have sport kings now and they just slick over in wet grass. Are there any good all terrain tires out there or should I just get some mud tires? With gas being so high I need to get decent tread life and dont want something that will be bald in 25k. Most of my driving is pavement but do get in some mud when working on the family farm here in TN.

I just bought 4 of these (http://treadwright.com/Tires-31X10_50R15_ATB-P99.aspx) cost me $330 + $30 to get them mounted and balanced. They drive good. Not great in the clay we have around here but they have tons of other mud tires to choose from and for the price i thought i would give them a shot
"How long will your tires last? We use a Full-Grade Truck rubber on all of our tires. This has anywhere for 10-20% natural rubber, leading to a higher mileage, more cut resistant tire. The tires come with a two year 24,000 mile warranty. The rubber is rated as a 40-60K tread compound"
Hope this helps.

My opinion, there is no better DD/Off-Road tire than the BFG AT...

Thanks for the input on the bfg at's. Has any tried the procomp original mud terrain on a fullsize rig for a daily drive and if so how well did they wear?

On your tire situation stay with the all terrain BFG at good tire. But if in a nasty situation I would look into installing a selectable locker up front. Like air locker. Its really nice having a locker up front and having a air compressor on truck for those weird situation when you need air. The one advantage with the air locker is its open when traveling down highway with hubs locked and flip the switch in bad stuff and be full posi. I live in ice world in winter and posi will kill you or put you in a ditch in a hurry. They don't make a mud tire that works on ice. ground hawg is the only big tire that has studdable capabilities out in 40" range or bigger.
