im looking for a strong solid axle that i could swap into to my 92 nissan that will be able to hold up to the abuse of 37 inch swamper yet still be able to crawl through the rough terrain

Cant go wrong with a dana44.Whats the engine in the 'san.If it's a swaped in v-8 then you might want after market axle shafts.

i was oringinally gonna suggest a toyota axle but then you said 37s inc tires so yeah a d44 would be better  
Solid axle chevys can't be beat!
My dream truck: 73-91 chevy 3500 crew cab srw with dana 60/14bolt, 6 inc long travel lift with KING shocks, 37 inc tires and a 24v cummins diesel, nv5600 and np205

If you want to match up to the rear axles bolt pattern go with the dana 44

for cheap you could get a dana 30 or 44 out of a jeep wagoneer or cherokee. but if you plan on going with bigger tires i would go with a dana 60 cuz with bigger tires and mores stress on the supension your gonna want a stonger axle.

get your self a pair of dana 44's with some where near a 5.13 gear and a good crawler geer set for your case     ****arb lockers****

A nissans pathfinders rear axle has a 9.3 inch ring gear,31 spline outers and ether 4.36 or 4.62 gear ratios stock...The axle is just as good as a ford 9in.
