When you say " I have an 86 K5" you have a blazer 4x4(chevrolet)or a jimmy 4x4(GMC) and an "86 K10" is a 1/2 ton 4x4 pick up in both flavors.

If you have NO bed and a removable top then you have a Blazer....you also should have a badge that says blazer or silverado right in front of the taillights on rr qtrpanal.

You have a K5...its the Blazer designation. It seems that the DMV put K10 meaning 1/2 ton. so now you can quit thinking about the K10...yours is a K5 Blazer.

Not exactly, it changed from a K5 to a K10 when S10 blazer came out.

That is strange because in online databases on vehicle recalls and info a 85 blazer is called a K10 not a K5. It appears that 84 was last year for K5 name

Not according to national recall databases. It is indeed a K10 after 1984. If yours is called a K5 on title, it is by mistake.
