Alot of production engines are siamesed. Do some research. There is a few degrees temp difference, but not enough to do any harm. It has jack to with reliability. I've had 4-5 400's and you simply are not going to tell me they overheat and don't last due to their design.

I even had one 400SB make it to 202,000 VERY hard miles before I finally spun a rod bearing running it a bit too hard.

Here is some math to play with guys
Bore x Bore x Stroke x.7854 x Number of cylinders.
This formula will give ya some ideas of the different combos you can make out of the mice!
ime sure there is an optimum combination for any application. look to the over size stroke cranks, look at the small stroke,large bore,or vice versa
who knows some one may come up with the exact medicine for today?
no one is right no one is wrong
its all about optimising what you have at hand and some money.
