On the rearend the third member gear set comes out the front of the housing. You need to remove the axels and driveline then unbolt the third member from the housing. It should then come right out.

It should be around a 3.90. It is easy to check though. Jack up one wheel and rotate it one turn and count drive shaft revs and multiple result by 2 and you have your gear ratio.

A lot of vendors sell on Ebay. I have gotten some gears there. Precision Gear in Michigan is not bad. BTW, you do not need a kit per say (new bearings) if there is no problem with old diff. Just get gears and a mini install kit which includes seals and shims as needed. One more important tip. WHen you install new gear take it easy on them for first 500 miles or so until they run it (no high speed cruising or towing) After than change lube in rear axle and roll. It generally takes longer for front gears to run it because they are not used all the time so maybe change them after 1000 miles or so with on and off 4x4 drive. Afterward get on a schedule and changing lube in axle every 15 to 20K if you want max axle life.

It is not for faint of heart because you have to set preload on bearing and gear mesh with shims and sometimes it takes some fine tuning but it is generally easier to setup when you use old bearings and carrier because nothing is changed there other than tweaking shims for side to side if need to to pattern match. Without knowing your experience level it is hard to say if you should try it or farm it out.

No you should have a 8.125 rear axle and a 7.5 front axle. Also reverse rotation was used in 95 up Tacomas and in T100's too so your 92 is not rev.
