I have a 1999 Dodge V-10 2500 4X4 and I was told it was a 241 transfer case. I'd like to know if 241's from Fords or Chevys will interchange? Mine sounds like it strips when I put it in 4-wheel drive, it works but it clunks, can someone pLease help me.

Dodge used two 241's. A standard one with Lighter Duty models and a 241HD with V10 and CTD. You are not going to use one out of a GM here as they never used HD version. You might consider rebuilding current Tcase if it is bad (could be a worn/stretched chain) and have you ruled out the noise coming from front axle disconnect not fully engaging at first.
