I have an 84 dodge w-150 318 a/t 4x4. It drove fine when i got it but then the reverse would not work. Every selection i made on the selector would go fwd except rev it did not move at all. In park it would try to move fwd and in neutral it would go fwd. Now after driving through the field a few times I have no fwd at all. Rev works now but only when selector is on R. All of the linkage is fine and when you shift through it all of the gears click. Any help would be appreciated.

I am going to take a stab at this. It kinda sounds like you have bad engine/tranny mounts that has let tranny shift around and effect linkage calibration. This is based on ranges being off in past as this tranny uses a mechanical shifter. The fact it changed after off road suggests that tranny shifted again and this time possibly damaged tranny too this time. You might drop pan and check internal linkage.

I do not think his problem is "stuck" clutch packs but this is not to say he does not have other internal issues.
