I went to change my leaky valve cover gasket on my amc 258 and when i removed one of the bolts from the valve cover antifreeze starts comming from the bolt hole. I guess I'm screwed huh? Doesnt seem to be any water in my oil though or yet anyway.

It is possible the hole was drilled and tapped too deep at factory.

Probe the hole and see what you come up with.

I'm not familiar with this motor but some ford and chevys have bolts that go into water jackets, (although they are not valve cover bolts.) When installing these bolts , it's common pratice to apply sealer to them when installing them. Just thinking out loud- but maybe the other time you took the valve covers off, the hole was plugged by sealer. Look at the ends of the bolts to see if there is traces of sealant on them. Even if this is not a normal condition, if the only place that is exposed to the coolant jacket is the end of a valve cover bolt, you should be in good shape. Look for bubbles in the radiator and the radiator building pressure while cool and blowing out coolant. If you don't have that and no coolant in the oil....well if it ain't broke....
